Parañaque City, the Philippines, 3 November 2016—First to Third Year clerics of Seminaryo ng Don Bosco explored the dynamics of intercultural relationships in a workshop facilitated by Br. Joe Ferrer, SDB.
The whole day workshop began with a session on personal awareness, revelation, and communication. The brothers were asked to make their own coat of arms which allowed them to be aware of their qualities and to communicate them to others. Br. Joe emphasized the need to know oneself and the importance of being with and communicating personally and clearly with others. Later, they were given the opportunity to present and explain the meaning of their respective coat of arms within their small groups.
The afternoon session focused on the ability of the group to work together. Through a game, the brothers learned the value of winning together through active listening, cooperation, and trust. Br. Joe encouraged the brothers to practice the values they relearned and realized so that the community may grow as one in diversity.
