Makati City, the Philippines, 28 February 2017—The Elementary and High School Departments of Don Bosco Technical Institute–Makati observed the rite of burning old palm branches in their morning assembly today, 28 February.
Fr. Donnie Duchin Duya, SDB, Institutional Pastoral Animator of DBTI–Makati led the rite.

As old palms are burned it only signifies that Ash Wednesday is approaching which marks the start of the Lenten Season.
Students and Lay Mission Partners were reminded just like those ashes that all earthly things are passing and what remains in the end is our faith in God.
Today, too, the Pastoral Ministry Office of DBTI–Makati launched the #LentChallenge for the members of its Educative Pastoral Community.
Everyone is encouraged to perform different works of sacrifice every day for the entire season of Lent.
The challenge highlighted the three pillars of the Lenten Season: Prayer, Penance and Charity.
