SALESIAN MISSIONARY IN FOCUS: FR. AARON ALCOSEBA, SDB sent to Thailand as a Missionary for more than 40 years. His indefatigable zeal for the ministry and for the mission of Don Bosco has endeared him to the Thai people. May his love for God in the way of Don Bosco inspire us to say “yes” to the call to “put out into the deep” with Jesus in the missions.
Personal message of Fr. Aaron Alcoseba, SDB for this day of Mission commemoration:
“Fr. Ding, thank you very much for this VDO clip you have created…i am very much impressed and grateful…you are amazing! i am sorry though that i could not come up with my VDO voice message. however, let me just say here my message: i am now 45 years here in the ‘land of smiles’ – Thailand. the first missionary dream was to be able to be with ‘wild animals’ – that was way back in Canlubang days when we were looking at pictures of missionaries in our ‘mission group meetings’; then, it became a stronger desire to move forward to go to the missions to continue ‘the line’ of missionaries – practical trainees from the formation houses and applying for the missions. being in Canlubang, among the pre and post novices, i applied for the missions as well. i thought then that it would be for ‘some years’… however, slowly it became a desire for ‘ad vitam’… i am still hearing this voice in my mind and heart – ‘missionary ad vitam’… please pray for more generosity and obedience to this call. thank you and God bless you all!”
