October 23, 2022–At the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians Parish in Parañaue City, the Philippines, 118 received the Sacrament of Confirmation, a mix of youth and adults.
The well-attended celebration was presided over by Most Rev. Archbishop Francesco Panfilo, on Oct. 23; Concelebrated with Rev. Fr. Cris Magbitang SDB, Parish Priest and Rector, and ably assisted by Deacon Rev. David Yan, SDB.
Volunteer catechists of the Parish gave a series of catechesis to them, to their parents and godparents. This is to deepen their understanding and appreciation of the sacrament and of our faith.
It seems back to normal as quite a number of children, youth and adults are observed in the initiation of various sacraments at the Shrine: This is the second time the Sacrament of Confirmation has been organized by the Parish since the pandemic; Mass Baptism has been regular on 1st and 3rd Sundays; First Communion given to children who come from various communities in the Parish, and a number organized by schools in Bgy. Don Bosco. Meanwhile, confessions are regular during most Masses and all the Masses on Sundays are practically full.
